The Barber Shop Closer Look

Skin cancer is highly treatable — when diagnosed early. But Black Americans are often diagnosed late. Later stage diagnoses mean that Black Americans are more likely to die from skin cancer, despite being less likely to get skin cancer.

 

To help solve this problem, we turned to leaders in the community – barbers. We connected barbers with dermatologists, and turned barbers into advocates for early skin cancer detection – bringing life saving awareness and intervention into the heart of the community.
